SYNOPSIS

A year after 9/11. Released after ten years in prison ex-female detective IRIS TROY works as a cab driver in New York City. When she drops her son TRAVIS, off at the airport, she picks up two Syrian men SAMI and ADNAN. Since the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, the media feeds the fear constantly and everybody is still on the edge and suspicious of each other.

When Iris finds the person called RAY whom she thinks is responsible for framing her. She found out that Ray got his order from a Turkish man called NAZIM. When she visited him Iris noticed Sami and Adnan meet with Nazim as well and they follow another Syrian man OMAR who owns a butcher shop with his uncle HAKKAN and has a beautiful daughter 21-years-old AYSHA and 15-years-old son JAMAL in Brooklyn.

We later realized Sami and Adnan came from Syria for Omar because of blood feud tradition. Omar was killed their father many years ago and fled the USA. On the day of the following, Iris meets with Omar’s son Jamal who happens to gets in her cab. And they have some sort of emotional connection right away and she replaces him with her son Travis. Since we realized that Travis has died on 9/11 and her meeting with him in her cab is just delusional.

Jamal’s extremely conservative family starts believing a rumor about him who has a homosexual relationship with a man in the neighborhood, the family decides Jamal brings a stain on the family’s name and he has to be punished. They lock him in the basement and force him to commit suicide.

In the end, Iris’s search leads her to the newly appointed New York City Police Commissioner TONY RODRIQUEZ who is responsible for her conviction. In Gunpoint, Tony confessed that he was protecting his brother who happens to be drug trafficking with his new transportation fleet and ready to pay her as much as she wants. After a fight with Tony and exchange shooting with his bodyguards, Iris escaped and received a call from Jamal who runs out from the basement. When Iris drives over to Brooklyn to pick him up she witnessed that Sami and Adnan kidnap Jamal.

The situation wraps up with Iris is being heavily injured with gunshots, Sami and Adnan killed and Jamal is rescued and Iris is holding a phone recording of Tony Rodriquez’s confession.
